CA Intermediate Exam Pattern
All the CA Intermediate Exams are conducted offline at the ICAI exam centers. There are a total of eight papers divided into two groups (four papers in each). Students can choose to appear in both the groups in a single attempt or give the exams separately.
ICAI even allows students to select between English or Hindi as their study medium. Students have 3 hours to write their answers.
Each paper is 100 marks. The questions are of subjective (70%) and objective (30%) type in Paper 2, 4, 6, 7. In the rest of the papers, the questions are of completely subjective type. No marks are deducted for wrong answers.
To pass the CA Intermediate exams, you need a minimum score of 40% on each paper and a 50% aggregate. However, if you fail to meet these passing criteria, yet score above 60% in any paper, then you will become eligible for exemption in that paper.
